Hank is writin' for his audience and that slick '59 Caddy he's riding around in cost enough that he could feed everybody with a pink slip for a week. :-)

I love a 1959 Caddy.
When I was a boy we had Irish immigrant friends who owned a turkey ranch. They never failed to send me home with a turkey egg. Loved those eggs. They really don't taste much different than chicken eggs but they are big.
Anyway, Old Man Porter bought a brand new 1959 Caddy and it was gorgeous. He was of Frank McCourts generation and I can still remember him saying that (at the time) a prosperous family in Ireland had two bicycles.

TWC, I said the same thing to LC after I saw the video. The director wasn't thinking.
