Gastroenteritis

    I'll never eat again.

I spent last night (Friday) in the emergency room. It started in the morning. Without getting graphic, let's just say that all the stomach problems in the world descended upon me. When the labored breathing, fainty moments on the bathroom floor, and doubled-over cramping started, I called my father, and he took me to the emergency room.

Ohmygod, morphine is awesome!

After being poked with all kinds of needles for shots and blood tests, I spent the night hooked up to a glucose and hydrating fluids IV with a little morphine on the side for the pain.

I caught a really ugly bug that the emergency room nurse said has been all over the tri-county area lately. I'm ok, home now, weak as a kitten, but happy to be on my sofa, watching my TV.

Funny how it sort of made me forget about my losing my job.

Rest easy, Ms C. We're happy you're home and on the mend.

Be grateful it was a bug. Same symptoms descended on a client who was about your age and it spelled two months in the hospital following a surgery to remove something you'd rather was left in place. Ditto my dad's wife (the doctors told dad that she would die in surgery).

Hugging John? ;-) You're supposed to be hugging Bill!

Sorry you got hit with the bug; it was over here in my area a month or so ago. Some friends had it. I missed out on it fortunately. Hope you get to feeling better, LC.

Thanks, y'all. I'm better today, still tired and weak and only eating toast and tea, but at least I'm not woozy.

And I will absolutely be hugging the Captain when he's here in just a couple days. Wednesday night! Yeee! :-)
