I heard the news today, oh boy

Hello, Miss Middle-aged, Laid off, and Over Qualified.

Anyone in need of a senior level corporate trainer and executive coach with tons of sales background?

Very sorry to hear that, Lady C. Your ex-employer is much weaker for having let you go.

Holy Crap! I know you were worried but deep down inside I figured you were far enough down the line that you'd be safe.

I am so sorry to hear that.

Wine is the only answer. At least for today.

Thanks, Col. I hope they file bankruptcy at the end of the year.

Nah, I'm not bitter :)

Thanks, Twc. I knew I had worked into a pretty cushy and luxurious job, but I had hope that the company would choose to go with a internet and virtual training program, but they are opting for live training, with trainers traveling all over the country. Seems like a funny way to cut costs to me. I used to travel that way, and my travel budget each year was way more than my salary. But whatever. I'm getting a good severance, though. I'll get paid through the end of the year even though my last day will be March 27th, so I won't be on the street.

And yes, I opened a bottle of red at 4pm.

Ah hell, LC - what crummy luck. I'm sure sorry about you getting layed off; I've been there, myself, a time or two and it's kind of hard to take. But you know what - it did always lead to better things.

Unfortunately now you're stuck with a really tough job, the hardest, most undesirable one there is - looking for work. Everybody hates that. :-(

Oh, hell. Sorry to hear of this...

Oh! Er,..uh,...why, hello there, Jennifer. Fancy running into you way over here. I uh, ahem,...I've just been doing only a leetle bit of extra-curricular reading here - uh, nothing serious, you understand. You do understand, I hope? (wipes sweat from brow.) ;-)

Thanks, SaSob. The Captain says the same thing about it leading to something better. He keeps reminding me that I've been pretty bored with my job anyway. Still, though. It was pretty cool in how it allowed me to work from home and make my own hours. And the benefits were fantastic.

Hi, Jennifer :)

Glad to see you around. I'll be sure to let the Captain know that you came by.
